Library Media Center The library media center at Hermitage Elementary School is a fun, dynamic place where students become lifelong learners and effective users of information. It is our mission to provide a technologically rich environment in which students can locate and use information in a variety of forms. Students have access to books and magazines as well as online and electronic resources. The library media specialist works with classroom teachers and the computer resource specialist to promote reading and develop opportunities for students to learn research skills while supporting the curriculum goals of Virginia Beach City Public Schools. |

Checkout Policy Students may check books out for up to two weeks. All students may check out up to two books at a time. |
Accelerated Reader The lists below contain titles, authors, and reading levels of Accelerated Reader Tests we have available at Hermitage. The levels are described in year and month format. For example, a reading level of 4.3 would be fourth grade, third month. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the lists. |
Great Sites for Kids |
Overdue Book Policy Students who do not return their books on time will be unable to check out other books until the overdue material is returned. Students will be charged the replacement cost for any lost or damaged books. A refund will be given if the book is found and returned in reasonable condition. |
